My son should not be buried without my say so – Mohbad’s father
Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has made it clear that his son should not be laid to rest without his explicit authorization, especially until justice has been served for the late singer. Emphasizing the necessity of a DNA test, he expressed his plea in a viral video shared on TikTok.
In the video, the grieving father appealed to the public to refrain from pushing for the burial of the late singer at this time.
He underlined that nobody should proceed with the burial without his consent, emphasizing that the pursuit of justice for his son is an ongoing battle.
He said, “I’ve been hearing that some people want to go and carry Mohbad’s body. Please, when this boy was alive, he was still my son, and when he died, he still retained my name. Nobody should go there and take his body, please.
If they want to do anything there, I’ll be the one to authorize them. Nobody should go and carry MohBad’s body from there. I beg all Nigerians, nobody should go there; we need justice for Mohbad. Let this justice take place, and the DNA test is necessary. That’s it.”

His video follows the November 18, 2023, tweet from artist Bella Shmurda, in which he emphasized that the autopsy findings had not been made public since the singer’s death in September.
The singer, frustrated by the lack of progress, asked for Mohbad’s remains to be freed so that a proper burial could take place; however, the late singer’s father has since rejected this request.
Shmurda’s tweet read, “It’s been over 2 months since Moh died, and his body was taken in for an autopsy, but yet no result, which is fine. But please release his body. That boy needs a befitting burial and to go to rest finally. Naija police, what’s going on? We need an answer here. Where is the result? Where is his body?”
