A viral video making rounds on social media shows the tense moment a fan of the late singer Mohbad stormed the stage in an attempt to physically assault Naira Marley during a live concert in Benin.
The Marlian Music boss had been performing when the visibly agitated individual forced his way onto the stage, throwing punches aimed at the singer. Naira Marley managed to evade the blows before security personnel, including close associate Sam Larry, swiftly intervened and restrained the attacker.
Despite the chaos, the singer resumed his performance, though the incident immediately sparked widespread reactions online.
The dramatic episode comes only weeks after Naira Marley released a YouTube video defending himself against allegations surrounding Mohbad’s tragic death. In the clip, he outlined 19 key points in an effort to clear his name.
Mohbad, who passed away on September 12, 2023, at just 27, became the center of a nationwide justice movement, with fans and sympathisers calling for accountability under the #Justice4Mohbad campaign.
Although Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and Zinoleesky have consistently denied involvement, emphasizing they were outside the country within 48 hours of the incident, public skepticism has persisted.
The attempted stage attack highlights the lingering tensions between Naira Marley and Mohbad’s supporters, underscoring how raw emotions remain nearly two years after the young artist’s death.
