Salah has had all but one of his assists for Liverpool, with the lone exception coming during his time at Chelsea. Meanwhile, Mahrez built his career at Leicester City and Manchester City.
Andy Robertson, a teammate who benefited from Salah’s assist today, said of Salah’s quality beyond his goals: “He probably only gets credit when he gets goals now, which is probably slightly unfair.”
Salah is also the first Liverpool player in Premier League history to assist on five consecutive away goals, and the fourth Premier League player to assist in five consecutive games.
Salah and Liverpool will travel to Austria to face LASK in their first Europa League match on Thursday.
