Mohamed Salah reacts after breaking huge Premier League goal record against Tottenham
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has achieved yet another remarkable milestone, becoming the first player in Premier League history to reach double figures for both goals and assists before Christmas.
Salah’s contribution in Liverpool’s thrilling 6-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday saw him net two goals and set up two more, bringing his season tally to an impressive 15 goals and 11 assists in just 16 games.
Reflecting on the achievement, Salah expressed his pride: “I didn’t think about it before the game, but I’m glad I have done it. It is something that makes me proud, I’ll keep working hard.”
The milestones keep coming for the Egyptian forward, who has now moved up to fourth place on Liverpool’s all-time top scorers list. Salah has surpassed the legendary Billy Liddell (228) and is now setting his sights on third place, currently held by Gordon Hodgson with 241 goals.
Salah humbly acknowledged the honor: “It is great to achieve that at such a big club but the most important thing is that we won the game. Wherever I am going to end my career, I am happy about it.”
Salah’s record-breaking performance underscores his continued dominance in English football and his pivotal role in Liverpool’s success. With his eyes set on further milestones, Salah continues to build a legacy as one of the Premier League’s and Liverpool’s all-time greats.
