Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah once again addressed questions about his uncertain future at the club following a spectacular performance in Liverpool’s 6-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Salah delivered two goals and two assists in the match, solidifying Liverpool’s position at the top of the Premier League table and bringing his direct goal contributions this season to 33 in 24 appearances across all competitions.
However, Salah’s long-term status with Liverpool remains unclear. The 32-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of the season and will soon be eligible to negotiate with overseas clubs.
Last month, Salah stirred speculation by suggesting he was “more out than in” at Liverpool and hinting that his clash against Manchester City could have been his “last game” at Anfield. Shortly after, reports emerged of an opening contract offer, but no significant progress appears to have been made since.
In response to Sky Sports’ inquiry about an update on his contract situation, Salah simply replied, “No, no,” leaving fans and pundits guessing.
Meanwhile, Salah continues to make history. Against Tottenham, he became the first Premier League player to reach double figures in both goals and assists before Christmas in a single season. He also climbed to fourth in Liverpool’s all-time scorers list with 229 goals, surpassing Billy Liddell.
While Ian Rush’s record of 346 goals remains distant, Salah could surpass Gordon Hodgson (241) by season’s end and close in on Roger Hunt’s 285, provided he stays at Liverpool.
If Salah leaves in 2025, potential suitors include Paris Saint-Germain or a Saudi Pro League team, both capable of offering lucrative wages and signing bonuses. Barcelona has also been linked but faces financial constraints that may hinder any serious pursuit.
Salah’s future remains uncertain, but his performances continue to underscore his value as one of the world’s top footballers.
