A representation of himself, ‘No Tension’ is the latest EP to come from Afrobeats star Mezzibanks.
Each song on this thought-provoking EP reflects the mindset of Mezzibanks at different points over the writing process.
Ranging from personal to societal, ‘No Tension’ deals with themes of seduction, love, reality, and gratitude.
A stand out from the EP has to be ‘Steal Me Away’, which was inspired by the tragic events that occurred in Nigeria in 2020 where peaceful protesters were killed by the Nigerian army and still await justice. ‘No Tension’ follows on from the success of the single ‘Choko’ which was released in 2020.
Mezzibanks is a Nigerian Afrobeats artist, currently signed to BBTB Worldwide, influenced by late music legends Fela Kuti and Bob Marley, D’banj, and 2face Idibia.
Mezzibanks has maintained his own original sound throughout the three singles he has released so far. His debut single ‘Hold Sumtin’ was well received by fans, gaining him lots of social media followers.
