Mbappe responds to Martinez World Cup taunts and discloses message he sent to Messi ahead of PSG reunion.
France superstar Kylian Mbappe gave his reaction to taunts from Argentina World Cup winner Emiliano Martinez after a winning return to action with Paris Saint-Germain.
Less than two weeks after experiencing World Cup misery with France as they fell to Argentina in the final, Mbappe made his comeback to club games.
Mbappe was questioned about the constant teasing he received from Argentina goalkeeper Martinez, who clutched a baby doll with the striker’s face glued to it during trophy celebrations in his country last week, after helping PSG defeat Strasbourg with a late penalty.
“Celebrations are not my problem,” the 23-year-old said in a classy response after PSG’s 2-1 win. “Don’t waste energy on such futile things, the important thing for me is to give the best of myself for my club.”

Mbappe also discussed his upcoming reunion with Argentina captain Lionel Messi at Parc des Princes, adding: “We will wait for Leo to come back to continue scoring and winning games. I spoke with him after the final, I congratulated him. It was the quest of a lifetime for him, for me too, but I failed, so you always have to be a good sport.”
In the World Cup final, the Frenchman scored a hat-trick for his nation to push Argentina to the brink and sensationally force a shootout. He tried his best to help them cross the finish line, but he was unsuccessful.
Since then, Mbappe has been repeatedly targeted by Martinez during his celebrations. Martinez had already questioned the PSG star’s football acumen in response to his contentious remarks about the quality of South American qualifying.
Martinez will soon return to Aston Villa and work to keep them out of the Premier League relegation zone while Mbappe waits for Messi’s return and focuses on helping Les Parisiens win their first Champions League and another Ligue 1 title.
