The talented Nigerian artiste, Mayorkun, reveals why his former record label boss, Davido, didn’t feature on his forthcoming album.
Nigerian Award-winning pop singer Mayowa Adewale, better known as Mayorkun, has disclosed why he didn’t feature his former label boss, Davido in his new album “Back In Office”, his premiere release with Sony Music.
Recall, Mayorkun got signed to Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) in 2016 and has collaborated with Davido for several years.
However, rumor has it that he just quietly left the record label because his contract was not renewed.
His latest album, ‘Back in Office,’ proves that he is no longer with DMW because it was not promoted by the label and does not have its logo on the record cover.

The self-proclaimed “Mayor of Lagos” recently organized a listening party for his new album and spoke with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
The listening party was attended by former and current DMW signees as well as OBO.
Ebuka asked why Davido was not included in his new album ‘Back in Office’.
Mayor said:
“Most people don’t know how creating an album works; sometimes, it’s a group of songs you’ve had way back and just compile together”.
“The songs that we have together I don’t feel like it’s for this album but for a later time”.
“I and Davido have songs together and it is not a situation that I took out his song for my album.”

Recall, mp3bullet.ng reported that the afrobeat star has unveiled his tracklist for his forthcoming album which featured Gyakie, Victony, DJ Maphorisa, Flavour, and Joeboy.
In addition, The talented singer, whose latest album, “Mayor of Lagos” was reviewed three years ago, revealed that his forthcoming album titled ” Back In Office”, will be released on October 29, 2021.
