Nigerian music sensation Mayorkun recently participated in an open and revealing conversation with Cool FM, during which he delved into his distinctive music style.
Conducted by former Big Brother housemate Tacha, the interview provided insights into Mayorkun’s Afro-Fusion approach and his artistic inspiration, notably drawn from fellow musician Burna Boy.
Mayorkun elaborated on his music style, underscoring his self-identification as an Afro-Fusion artist. He articulated that this designation reflects his conviction that he can create music spanning a variety of genres while retaining a core “Afro” essence.
His influences from Burna Boy, who is renowned for blending Afro-African elements with diverse musical styles, were evident. Mayorkun exhibited his own dedication to infusing his African heritage into his musical works.
