Mayorkun’s new album will feature 8 artists, including Davido

Afrobeats sensation Mayorkun has officially announced the release of his highly anticipated third studio album, titled Still The Mayor, set to drop on June 13, 2025.
The 12-track project is expected to showcase Mayorkun’s growth as a hitmaker, featuring eight guest appearances, including a powerful collaboration with Davido on the upcoming single “Blessings on Blessings,” also releasing on the same day as the album.
Still The Mayor follows the success of his 2023 EP Love For Free, which included fan favorites “For Daddy” and “Low Key.” The upcoming album continues the narrative that has defined Mayorkun’s nearly decade-long journey—from breakout star to one of Afrobeats’ most consistent hitmakers.

In April 2025, Mayorkun gave fans a taste of his evolving sound and lyrical depth with the release of “Reason 2 Japa,” a poignant song that explores Nigeria’s ongoing Japa wave—mass migration driven by socio-economic struggles and political disillusionment.
Set against a backdrop of Amapiano log drums, the track reflects the frustrations of Nigerian youth. “Tell me the reason not to japa,” Mayorkun questions, highlighting a generation in search of hope and opportunity.
From his debut album, Mayor of Lagos, which delivered hits like “Mama,” “Che Che,” and “Bobo” (featuring Davido), to his 2021 sophomore effort, Back In Office, and the smash hit “Holy Father” featuring Victony, Mayorkun has consistently proved his ability to capture the moment through melody and meaning.
With Still The Mayor, the award-winning artist looks to reaffirm his place at the top of the Afrobeats scene, delivering a body of work that balances introspection with irresistible rhythms.
