Mayor of Houston declares July 7th of every year as World Davido Day (Video)

Renowned Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has once again captured the admiration of many with his latest achievement in the music industry.

The Mayor of Houston, Texas recently declared July 7th of each year as “World Davido Day” in the city, as stated in an official announcement.

On June 7th, 2023, Davido, currently on his Timeless tour in the United States, delivered an exceptional performance at the Toyota Center in Houston.

This recognition follows a similar honor bestowed upon fellow Afrobeats star Wizkid by the Governor of Minnesota, Mark Dayton, who declared October 6th, 2023, as “World Wizkid Day” in the city back in 2018.

Sylvester Turner, the 62nd mayor of Houston, Texas, granted this latest distinction to Davido in acknowledgment of his significant contributions to the music industry thus far.
