Mp3bullet.ng presents Top Classics to come out from Mavin Records.
Don Jazzy-led Mavin record has dished out classics over the years solidifying its place as one of Nigeria’s top labels.
Mavin was birthed after the crash of D’banj and Don Jazzy’s co-led Mo’hits record which dominated the industry in the mid-2000s.
While D’banj left to join Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music record and start his own label, Don Jazzy started Mavin signing in Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage, D’Prince and Dr Sid at the initial stage.
However, Wande Coal left and other artists like Korede Bello, Reekado Banks, and Di’Ja were added to the label.
Over the years, the Label has witnessed the exit of some talented acts and the addition of other acts like Ayra Starr, Magixx, Crayon, and Rema who came through a joint partnership with D’Prince’s Jonzing record.
This year, the iconic label clocked 10 years and to commemorate the special occasion, mp3bullet.ng compiled a list of some of its best classics released over the years.

Dorobucci- (Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr. SID, D’Prince, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Di’Ja)
“Dorobucci” was one of the most popular in Nigerian pop culture throughout 2014. The song also marked the launch of the Mavin group into the mainstream scene.
Reekado Banks had a terrific hook on this one, as did the entire Doros.
Adaobi- Mavins (Don Jazzy, Reekado Banks, Di’ja, Korede Bello)
Don Jazzy claims he isn’t a singer, however, this song disproves that allegation. Reekado Banks also put in a strong performance on this one.
Di’ja and Korede Bello also did well, but Reekado Banks and Don Jazzy were the clear winners.
Despite the fact that this song was released in 2014, it still feels like a new song.
Godwin- Korede Bello
This is one of the rare secular tunes that has been known to shut down nightclubs and churches.
Don Jazzy and Korede Bello’s masterpiece “Godwin” will live on forever. The Bellovers, Korede’s fanbase, was born and institutionalized as a result of this song.
Awww- Di’Ja
Dorobucci might have been Di’Ja’s first big break but “Awww” launched as a proper solo artist. While she has released several songs after this, none have been able to top the greatness of this record.
Mungo Park- Korede Bello
Mungo Park, a hilarious feel-good song by Korede Bello, gave fans a glimpse into Korede’s sense of humor.
Mungo Park, produced by Don Jazzy, was another example of Don Jazzy and Korede Bello’s outstanding partnership.
Bad- Tiwa Savage ft Wizkid
These two do not create terrible music. This is a winning combo. ‘Bad,’ by Tiwa Savage, is mature and seductive song.
The song was a testament to the crazy Tiwa Savage and Wizkid had.
It provided fans with a better idea of what a Wizkid and Tiwa collaboration can accomplish.
Do Like That- Korede Bello
Korede Bello seems to be topping this list and for good reasons. Korede was undoubtedly one of Mavin’s best assets.
“Do Like That” was another huge record he released under the label and of the label’s songs to cross over 100 Million mark on Youtube and earn international certification at that.
Up 2 Sumting- Iyanya ft. Don Jazzy & Dr Sid
In 2016, Iyanya joined Mavin Record and as its newest artist dropped the song Up 2 Sumting featuring Don Jazzy and Dr Sid.
The three talented acts were amazing on the mid-tempo beat produced by Don Jazzy.
Ma Lo- Tiwa Savage ft Wizkid
While Wizkid and Tiwa gave fans a glimpse of on the beauty of their collaboration, “Ma Lo” was a different dimension that fueled relationship rumours due to how intense the record was.
