Atletico Madrid agree on loan deal for Matt Doherty.
Tottenham Hotspur wing-back Matt Doherty is about to sign a loan agreement to spend the rest of the season at Atletico Madrid, according to reports.
To create way for Pedro Porro, who will join Spurs from Sporting CP on deadline day following a difficult few weeks of negotiations, Spurs had been hoping to transfer some of their present right-sided alternatives this month.
In order to finalize a straight six-month loan to Rennes, Djed Spence is in France. According to sources, Doherty is currently on his route to Atletico Madrid.

When centre-back Felipe completes his transfer to Nottingham Forest, Atletico Madrid will clarify that the Irishman will also depart Spurs on a customary loan agreement.
Roma’s sought-after right-back Atleti had Rick Karsdorp on their radar as well, but they decided to choose Doherty instead.
Emerson Royal was said to be leaving Spurs for Atletico this month, but it appears he will stay on as a squad option.
Doherty will join Sergio Reguilon, another Tottenham loanee, at the Estadio Metropolitano. In the summer of 2020, both players joined Spurs under Jose Mourinho.
