Matt B beats Tems & Rema to win Best Global Album at the 67th Grammy Awards.

American singer Matt B, alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, has won the Best Global Album category at the 67th Grammy Awards with his project ‘Alkebulan II.’
The album triumphed over strong competition from Ciro Hurtado’s “Paisajes,” Rema’s “HEIS,” Antonio Rey’s “Historias De Un Flamenco” and Tems‘ “Born in the Wild” to claim the prestigious award.
For Nigerian nominees Rema and Tems, the loss means they missed the chance to join Burna Boy, who remains the only Nigerian artist to have won in this category after clinching the award in 2021 with ‘Twice As Tall.’
This result extends Nigeria’s struggle in the Best Global Album category, bringing the nation’s tally to just one win from 16 nominations.
Since King Sunny Ade’s historic nomination in 1999 for Odu, Nigerian artists have consistently earned recognition in the category, reflecting the country’s growing global influence in music.
