Mason Greenwood to spend over a month behind bars as Man Utd forward remanded.
Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood is set to spend more than a month behind bars after a district judge this afternoon remanded him in custody following a breach of bail over an attempted rape.
Greenwood was detained in January and was out on bail until Saturday when it is alleged that he violated the terms of his release and prosecutors decided to file charges.
The Man United player has been remanded in custody after appearing in court on charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault.
The Manchester United player appeared in a grey hoodie and grey jogging shorts while family members were watching from the public gallery.
The three charges relate to the same woman.

The alleged attempted rape occurred in October 2021, the alleged assault occurred in December 2021, and the alleged coercive and controlling behaviour occurred between November 2018 and October this year.
When the charges were made public, Manchester United suspended Greenwood, and he hasn’t participated in any games or practices with the team since. He has played 129 times and scored 35 goals for the team.
Along with being dropped from the well-known FIFA 22 video game, Greenwood’s endorsement agreement with Nike was also cancelled.
On November 21, Greenwood will appear before Manchester Crown Court.
