Marcus Rashford names the toughest opponent of his career till date
Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has identified the toughest opponent he has faced in his career so far.
Despite having a prolific goal-scoring season at Old Trafford, netting 30 goals to secure United’s spot in the Champions League, Rashford admits that overcoming opponents can be tough.
He named Manchester City’s full-back and England teammate, Kyle Walker, as his most formidable adversary. During an interview with Gary Neville on ‘Quickfire Questions’ for The Overlap, Rashford revealed this information.
He said:‘I would probably say Kyle Walker. His physical capabilities are just unbelievable so it’s always a tough day.
‘You have to try and catch him off-guard or in the wrong position, but even then he can recover. I just try and drift into places where he can’t drift and he has to pass me on.’
Over the years, Rashford and Walker have frequently faced each other in Manchester derbies, with Rashford often taking up the left-wing position for United. Their encounters on the pitch have been a regular occurrence.
