Manuel Ugarte transfer: Manchester United complete signing of Uruguay midfielder from PSG
Manchester United have finalized the signing of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal potentially worth up to £50.5 million.
United have initially paid £42 million, with the total value of the deal reaching £50.7 million (€60 million) when performance-related add-ons are included.

Ugarte was United’s top midfield target throughout the transfer window, and the club is reportedly satisfied with the agreement. However, he will not be available to debut for United on Super Sunday against Liverpool.
PSG initially sought £51.1 million (€60 million), the amount they paid Sporting Lisbon last summer before bonuses. However, both clubs reached a compromise to finalize the deal.

Reports suggest Ugarte was determined to move to Old Trafford this summer, with personal terms never being an issue during negotiations.
While PSG and United were both interested in a permanent deal, discussions also included a loan move with an obligation to buy. United needed to offload players to facilitate the transfer, and the departures of Facundo Pellistri to Panathinaikos and Hannibal Mejbri to Burnley created the necessary space in Erik ten Hag’s squad.
Last season, Ugarte topped the French league in tackles (98), despite starting only 21 games.
It’s done.
