Benjamin Sesko is here! Man Utd announce £74m deal for RB Leipzig star to complete Ruben Amorim’s new-look attack

Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško has completed a blockbuster move to Manchester United from RB Leipzig, with the deal valued at around €85 million (£74m/$100m) and running for five years.
United tabled their offer to Leipzig earlier in the week, edging out strong interest from Newcastle United, with the 22-year-old opting for Old Trafford as his next destination.
After extended negotiations, the transfer was finalized, tying Šeško to the club until 2030. He becomes part of a revamped attacking line that already includes fellow summer signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
Fresh off a prolific campaign in which he netted 21 goals, the Slovenia international cited both Manchester United’s storied legacy and the ambitious vision under head coach Ruben Amorim as key factors in his decision.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Šeško said:
“The history of Manchester United is obviously very special but what really excites me is the future. When we discussed the project, it was clear that everything is in place for this team to continue to grow and compete for the biggest trophies again soon.
From the moment that I arrived, I could feel the positive energy and family environment that the club has created. It is clearly the perfect place to reach my maximum level and fulfil all of my ambitions.
I cannot wait to start learning from Ruben [Amorim] and connecting with my team-mates to achieve the success that we all know we are capable of together.”

United will be banking on Šeško to provide the firepower they sorely lacked last season, when Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee led the line with mixed results.
His arrival could push one of them out of the squad, but there’s no guarantee the towering 6ft 5in forward will be the instant solution to their scoring woes. With such a hefty price tag, the pressure is on—another misfire in the transfer market is a risk the Red Devils cannot afford.
