Manchester United received a “significant boost” from their pursuit of Ademola Lookman, a star forward for Atalanta.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has gained momentum amid reports of his uncertain future in Italy.
Meanwhile, Timo Werner is set to return to RB Leipzig after his Tottenham loan, ruling out a permanent move, while Aston Villa and Everton prepare to battle for Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez, valued at £40 million.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United’s hopes of securing Lookman have received a “significant boost” following his fallout with Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
The coach publicly criticized Lookman’s penalty-taking abilities, branding him “one of the worst penalty-takers I’ve ever seen,” to which the Nigerian forward responded by calling the remarks “deeply disrespectful.”
Juventus has also been linked with Lookman, but Atalanta reportedly prefers not to sell him to a Serie A rival. This increases the likelihood of a move to the Premier League, with multiple English clubs showing interest.
United, seeking attacking reinforcements under Ruben Amorim, could see Lookman as a viable option, particularly given his release clause of €55 million (£45.4 million). However, with no European football next season, United may face stiff competition from other clubs offering continental action.
