Manchester City unveil away kit for 2024/25 season, paying homage to 1999 play-off victory
Manchester City have unveiled their away kit for the 2024/25 season, paying tribute to their iconic play-off victory in 1999. The kit features a navy blue shirt with neon yellow strikes and blue on the collar and sleeve, reminiscent of the jersey worn during the historic match against Gillingham at Wembley Stadium.
The Cityzens’ 1999 play-off final victory is still remembered fondly by fans around the world, and the kit is a wonderful gesture by the club and Puma to commemorate the anniversary.
Club ambassador and former striker Paul Dickov said, “It’s fantastic to see this year’s away kit revealed today. The 1999 play-off final victory still remains a special moment for myself and City fans around the world, and I know the kit from that day is remembered by those who were there and beyond.”

The kit is made using Puma’s RE:FIBRE initiative, which uses recycled textile waste to create more sustainable jerseys, and features dryCELL technology to keep players and fans dry. The club’s home shirt was released in May, referencing the ‘0161’ dialling code of Manchester alongside their traditional sky blue color.
After their triumph at Wembley in 1999, City went on to achieve promotion to the Premier League and have since become one of the most feared teams in Europe, winning league titles under Roberto Mancini, Manuel Pellegrini, and Pep Guardiola. The new away kit is a fitting tribute to the club’s history and legacy.
