Man City issues defiant statement as Premier League allegations rock Pep Guardiola’s side.
Manchester City have broken their silence following FFP charges and allegations of breaching financial rules by the Premier League.
After a four-year investigation, the Sky Blues might be subject to a variety of sanctions, including point reductions or ejection from the division.
Shockwaves were sent through English football on Monday when the ruling was confirmed via a lengthy Premier League statement. . City are accused of breaking more than 100 financial laws between 2009–10 and the present, which might subject the Sky Blues to a number of fines.
Although it has been stated that officials are unlikely to contemplate retroactive measures, such as nullifying titles won years ago, points deductions, being stripped of titles, spending restrictions, transfer bans, and even relegation are all expected to be on the table.

An impartial disciplinary committee will now handle the case through a number of confidential sessions. City responded with a statement of its own around two hours after the original news came, demonstrating their defiance.
It read:
“Manchester City FC is surprised by the issuing of these alleged breaches of the Premier League Rules, particularly given the extensive engagement and vast amount of detailed materials that the EPL has been provided with,”
“The Club welcomes the review of this matter by an independent Commission, to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence that exists in support of its position. As such we look forward to this matter being put to rest once and for all.”
