Rayan Ait Nouri transfer news: Man City complete £36.3m deal for Wolves defender ahead of Club World Cup
English champions Manchester City have completed the signing of Algerian international left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a deal worth up to £36.3 million.
The 23-year-old fullback has signed a five-year contract with the Cityzens, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until 2030. The transfer includes an initial payment of £31 million with an additional £5.3 million in performance-related clauses.
Aït-Nouri arrives just in time to be part of Pep Guardiola’s squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, as City gear up to defend their global title.

Speaking to the club’s official website following the announcement, the former Wolves star could not hide his excitement.
“I am incredibly happy and honoured to have joined Manchester City,” he said.
“City are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the chance to play for the club is a dream come true.
“I am also excited about working with and learning from Pep and his coaching team and getting to train and play alongside such a world class group of players.
“Joining City is also a very proud moment for my family too. Now I can’t wait to get started and to play in front of our supporters.”

Aït-Nouri’s signing marks City’s first major move of the summer window. However, the Premier League side are far from done, as deals for two more highly-rated talents are already in motion.
City have reached a £34 million agreement with Lyon for creative midfielder Rayan Cherki and are racing to finalise personal terms and a medical in time for the Frenchman to be registered for the Club World Cup.
In addition, Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders is also expected to join the treble winners from AC Milan in a deal valued at £46.3 million. The 25-year-old is set to pen a five-year deal and add further depth to City’s midfield options ahead of the new season.
With Aït-Nouri through the door and more arrivals looming, Manchester City appear to be reloading rather than rebuilding as they prepare for another assault on silverware across all fronts.
