Man United confirm loan departure of young midfielder to Sevilla.
Manchester United has officially announced that young midfielder Hannibal Mejbri has joined La Liga side Sevilla on loan for the remainder of the season. Hannibal, who opted out of Tunisia’s Africa Cup of Nations squad to pursue his next move in club football, attracted interest from Premier League side Everton before ultimately choosing a move to Spain.
The loan deal reportedly includes an option to make the move permanent, with BBC Sport estimating its value at £17.2 million. Hannibal has featured in ten appearances for Manchester United across all competitions this season, with his most recent involvement being in their 2-0 FA Cup third-round victory over Wigan Athletic.
However, he was not part of the matchday squad for the 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Reports suggest that Manchester United has incorporated a fixed buy-back clause and a sell-on clause for the 20-year-old midfielder, indicating a strategic approach to managing his future within the club.
Good luck for the remainder of the 2023/24 season, @HannibalMejbri 🤝#MUFC
