Speaking out following Oscar Mbo’s decision to shorten her performance at the Macufe Festival.
South African singer, Makhadzi recently shared her frustration following a performance at the Macufe Festival in Bloemfontein, where she was abruptly stopped after just 20 minutes on stage.
The renowned singer took to social media to express her disappointment, suggesting that Oscar Mbo might have orchestrated a PR stunt at her expense. According to Makhadzi, Oscar Mbo’s DJ removed her USB drive mid-performance, effectively ending her set.
In a social media post, Makhadzi wrote, “I’m sorry for the 20-minute performance at Bloemfontein Macufe. I’m not sure if this is all part of Oscar Mbo’s PR strategy, but this is unfair to fans who paid to see us. Oscar Mbo’s DJ cut my music just as I was about to finish. Raorata Bafana, but PR shouldn’t harm others.”
The incident left Makhadzi feeling disappointed and disheartened, as she pointed out that fans deserved to experience her full performance. Her post sheds light on the frustration felt by both artists and fans when unexpected issues disrupt live shows.
Meanwhile, Makhadzi has made history on Spotify with her latest album, Miracle Child. The album has soared to the top of the Spotify Weekly Albums chart, making Makhadzi the first female South African artist to achieve this milestone.
The award-winning singer took to social media to share the exciting news, expressing her gratitude for the support from her fans.
“BOOOOM. We Made it to Debut at Number 1 on @spotifyafrica! We are making history. Thank you very much, Khadzinators… you are the best. I don’t even know what to say anymore because we just keep on going higher and higher,” Makhadzi wrote.
