This is a list of major Nigerian artists who collaborated for the first time in 2023.
Mp3bullet puts together a list of the top major Nigerian artists who have collaborated for the first time ever in 2023
AG Baby & Zinoleesky
This year, one of the most significant music shocks was witnessing AG Baby and Zinoleeksy deliver a jam. Party No Dey Stop is a song that lives up to its title. It was accepted upon arrival and has maintained a solid spot in club playlists since its release.
BNXN & Seyi Vibez
Earlier in February, Buju tapped Seyi Vibez and Kizz Daniel on his jam, Gwagwalada – which was delivered in his usual Afro-fusion style. Buju’s flow with the duos was intelligently utilized and each part of the song was groovy.
Chike ft Oxlade
In March, Chike bowed to the pressure of his fans as he released the remix to his hit single, ‘Spell’. Knowing his work of art to be special, he featured Oxlade for the remix and this was their first time collaborating.
Oxlade‘s contribution to the song is nothing short of amazing, and his vocals blend perfectly with Chike‘s to create a beautiful musical experience that will leave listeners in awe.
Davido ft Asake
This particular collaboration was expected though, but when it was to happen was not revealed. And to the fruitful wait, Davido tagged him and they both delivered one of the hottest Afrobeats songs released in the first half of the year, No Competition.
The track is off Davido’s Timeless album.
Nonso Amadi & Zinoleesky
Going by their range and musical appeal, one would not expect to have a street-hop sensation like Zinoleeksy on a classical-oriented singer like Amadi. Thoughts have it that the singer decided to explore his versatile sides and this sure yielded positively with their song, ‘Lock Up’.
Oxlade & Flavour
Oxlade and Flavour also collaborated for the first time. High-life meets Afropop in Ovami and we all know how the song was received.
Bella Shmurda & Tiwa Savage
Also in March, Fineboy Bella employed Tiwa Savage’s vocals on his single, ‘NSV’.
“Non Stop Vibe (Nsv)” is not the usual heavy or party-type Afrobeats. The record feels more like a creed for good vibes. The record allowed both artists enough room to flaunt their vocal range and depth on simple chord formations, with intriguing amapiano infusions.
Olamide & Ckay
YBNL boss, Olamide featured Ckay on the song, “Trumpet”. This was a first time collaboration from the two artistes. The tune blended CKay’s soulful R&B approach with Olamide’s distinctive sound. With its memorable hooks, sultry melodies, and upbeat beats, the song shows the talents of both performers. This collaboration between Olamide and CKay is certain to be one of the highlights of the year in the Nigerian music scene due to their combined talents and creative approaches to music.
Tiwa Savage & Ayra Starr
This was another banger witnessed earlier in the year. Tiwa employed Ayra Starr and Young Jonn on her single, Stamina.
Seyi Vibez ft Young Jonn
Last, on our list was Vibez and Jonn doing justice to a new track tagged, ‘Suddenly’.
The song’s production by Magicsticks teases listeners with undertones of Afrofusion and Amapiano music. Young Jonn’s voice is distinctive, and he has a great mastery of vocal technique, melody, rhythm, variation, and emotional delivery that can evoke a range of feelings in the listener. ranging from sadness to pleasure, love, and more.
