Liverpool reach ‘full agreement’ to sign Mac Allister from Brighton for ‘way less’ than £60m.
According to a report by football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion reached a “full agreement” on the signing of Alexis Mac Allister.
The Reds swiftly abandoned their pursuit of Jude Bellingham, who is expected to join Real Madrid, and instead focused on Mac Allister.
In 2022–2023, Mac Allister had a great year playing for Brighton and Argentina. The World Cup champion aided the Seagulls’ Europa League qualification.
His recent success is now likely to lead to a transfer to Liverpool. This summer, they’re likely to bring in two or three midfielders, with Mac Allister likely to be the first.
Romano took to Twitter on Monday morning to reveal a “full agreement” has been reached between all parties over a contract for Mac Allister.
The transfer guru adds his deal will run until 2028 and ‘Liverpool will pay his buy-out clause in the next days’. This is ‘way less than the reported £60m fee’ and he will have his medical in the next couple of days.

The 24-year-old midfielder successfully stormed the Premier League in the 2022–23 campaign and was crucial in helping Brighton finish in the top seven, guaranteeing that they will compete in the UEFA Europa League for the first time in their history the following year.
Sergio Aguero praised Mac Allister as a “very intelligent player” for the important part he played for Argentina during their World Cup campaign in Qatar. Mac Allister made 35 league appearances for the Seagulls, scoring 10 goals and dishing out two assists.
He is known for being a dedicated, vivacious midfielder who can adjust to many situations. He also has a keen eye for goals and can create opportunities from midfield.
