M.anifest fondly recalls how Eno Barony beat him in a rap battle
Rapper M.anifest commended Eno Barony, a partner in the business, and recalled how she had won a rap war against him at an unidentified radio station.
M.anifest offered Barony flowers while appreciating her outstanding talent and earning a name for himself in Ghanaian and African rap music culture.
The rapper described Eno Barony’s entry into the music industry as the “breaking of the glass ceiling moment.”
He said, “I remember the first time I was on the radio station with her when I saw her, she out-rapped me, I was like ‘oh my goodness, who is this one?”
However, the dignified rapper noted correctly that Barony has not received fair treatment in the industry since she is a woman.
The reality is that the hip-hop and music industries are still quite misogynistic, which is why there aren’t many women working in these fields. It is challenging for a woman to work in these environments, even for something as straightforward as late-night studio sessions.
He added that in order for the music industry to prosper, women need to be given equal opportunities.
