DMW Didn’t Pay Enough Attention To My Career – Liya Explains Why She Left Davido’s Record Label.
Nigerian singer Liya has provided insights into the reasons for her departure from Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).
Liya, who is acclaimed as DMW’s first lady, released notable tracks such as “Lakiriboto” and “Melo” during her time with the label. However, she has since left DMW, citing a perceived lack of attention to her career as the primary factor.
In a podcast interview, Liya explained that her decision to part ways with the label stemmed from her belief that her career wasn’t receiving the focus and support she needed. Consequently, she expressed the need to start afresh and carve her own musical path in a different direction.
Despite her departure, Liya expressed her admiration for DMW’s current roster of artists and their endeavors. She emphasized her continued support for the label and its new talents, indicating that she wishes them well in their musical pursuits.
