DMW First lady, Liya has opened up on how met Davido and eventually got signed to his label.
In an exclusive chat with Hiptv, Liya revealed that she and her manager, Vanessa were hanging out with Peruzzi in his car.
According to the singer, Vanessa played her song on Peruzzi’s car radio which caught his attention. After they got to a club where Davido was, she noticed Peruzzi whispered something to him.
The DMW Label owner out of curiosity asked that her song be played in the club, which was done and he liked it. The Song in question was ‘Melo” which she had recorded there days before the incident.

Davido liked the song and decided to sign her to DMW Label. Liya stated that before this incident, the two of them didn’t know themselves or have any personal relationship of any kind.
Liya was signed to DMW in 2020 and became the first woman to sign to the label. She released her first official single, ‘Melo” weeks after her signing and later dropped her debut album titled ‘Alari” in 2021.
