Wataru Endo, a defensive midfielder, has been officially signed by Liverpool from Stuttgart.
Since the Reds allowed Fabinho, James Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Jordan Henderson to leave Anfield this summer, it is imperative to add to the midfield reinforcements already in place, including Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
After losing out to Premier League rivals Chelsea on both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, it was reported earlier this week that Liverpool had reached a £16 million agreement to sign Endo.
Endo will even take over the number three shirt left vacant by the Brazilian when he joined Al Ittihad last month as Caicedo’s successor at the basis of the midfield.

“I’m very happy right now and I’m so excited to join a big club in Liverpool,” Endo told the club’s official website upon his unveiling.
“It feels amazing and this is my dream. It’s always [been] a dream to play [in the] Premier League and with one of the biggest clubs in the world. It’s a dream come true for me.”
“It’s going to be the first time for me that I play at Anfield. I can’t wait to play at Anfield in front of Liverpool fans.
“I play as a No.6 and I’m like a bit more [of a] defensive player. I think I can help this club defensively and I will have good organisation in the middle. I think that’s my job.”
We have agreed a deal to sign @wataru0209 from VfB Stuttgart on a long-term contract, subject to international clearance and work permit application 🙌🔴
