‘I tried to turn Omah Lay into a gospel artist.” – Limoblaze drops bombshell saying he helped Omah Lay upload his first song

Nigerian gospel artist Limoblaze has shared an interesting backstory about Afrobeats star Omah Lay, revealing that he assisted him in uploading his very first song to streaming platforms and quietly hoped to guide him toward gospel music.
The revelation came after a trending question on X asked users to share a story from the music industry that sounds made up but is completely true. Responding to the prompt, Limoblaze wrote:
“I showed Omah Lay how to do his first upload of his music to streaming platforms and I was hoping to gradually influence him into making Jesus music. I never give up.”
His post quickly sparked reactions, with some users wondering if there was more to the story. However, the gospel singer later dismissed any speculation of hidden drama.
“Lol there’s no full gist. We were boys, I always thought he was a special talent & told him I was sure he was going to blow up and did my best to support him and I was right cos he blew up,” he added.

Beyond his connection with Omah Lay, Limoblaze also reflected on his longstanding relationships within Nigeria’s music scene. He disclosed that he “was boys” with Ckay, remains close friends with Johnny Drille, and even lived briefly in Skales’s house.
He further revealed that he once had a respectful conversation about faith with rapper Blaqbonez, while describing R&B star Banky W as family.
I was boys with Ckay, always been and still brothers with Johnny Drille, I lived a short period in Skales’ house, I & Blaqbones knew of each other & had 1 respectful interaction where we argued about faith. Banky W is family. https://t.co/xUscHUlrjx

The revelations paint a picture of an interconnected industry where friendships and support systems often run deeper than fans realise and where early encouragement can play a quiet but pivotal role in shaping future stars.
