Lil Kesh Sheds Light on Mental Health, Reveals Personal Struggles with Anxiety and ADHD

Nigerian rapper Lil Kesh has bravely opened up about his ongoing mental health struggles, revealing that he deals with both anxiety and what he believes to be undiagnosed ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
In a recent candid interview, the Shoki hitmaker shared how he has lived with symptoms of ADHD since childhood, though he hasn’t been formally diagnosed. Still, he’s certain about what he’s experiencing.
“I don’t like to identify as ADHD, but I have ADHD… I’ve had my fair share of that disorder right from when I was a kid.”
Lil Kesh emphasized that ADHD, often misunderstood or trivialised in conversations, is for him a persistent challenge that affects how he navigates life and work. His self-awareness, he said, comes from years of experience rather than a professional label.
“I diagnosed myself, but trust me, I know.”
In addition to ADHD, the rapper discussed anxiety, particularly triggered by uncertainty and lack of clarity, which is exacerbated by the pressures of fame.
“Once I know what it is that I’m dealing with… that is half solved.”
Lil Kesh’s openness adds to the growing number of Nigerian celebrities speaking out about mental health—an important shift in an industry and culture where such discussions have often been stigmatized or ignored.
