Cameroonian-American single Libianca made history by making her hit song “People” the highest-charting African song on the UK Official Singles charts.

Libianca made a splash in the music industry, with her song “People,” which explores the pain and loneliness of an increasingly challenging and individualistic world,

‘People‘ has gained popularity both abroad and in Nigeria since its release. The song has now peaked at No. 2 on the most recent UK Singles Chart (April 14–April 20, 2023).

This sees it become the highest charting African song in the chart’s history as it breaks the last peak record of NO. 3 held by CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti‘.

This week, Rema’s ‘Calm Down‘ remix feat Selena Gomez moves up one spot back to its NO. 4 top position. Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’ drops 3 places to NO. 27 because it extends its run on the chart to 12 weeks.

Davido’s ‘Unavailable‘ featuring Musa Keys drops to NO. 70 after debuting at NO. 6O last week.
