    • Leeds fired Jesse Marsch following an alarming streak of losses since November and a desperate Premier League relegation battle.

According to reports Jesse Marsch has been sacked by Leeds United after less than 12 months on the job.

The American, 49, has overseen a seven-game winless run in the Premier League which ended with a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Leeds‘ poor performance has placed them in 17th place in the standings, one goal above the relegation zone.

And according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the West Yorkshire club have now made the decision to get rid of Marsch.

Just over a year ago, the former RB Leipzig player took over for Marcelo Bielsa, and on the last day of the 2021–2022 season, he led them to Premier League survival.

However, despite having support in the transfer market, this season has been another challenge.

Leeds has only triumphed in four of its 20 Premier League contests thus far.

Marsch’s bad performance has meant their demise since club officials want to make sure they stay in the top division for a fourth straight year.

Carlos Corberan, the West Brom manager, has emerged as a possible successor.

The 39-year-old guided Huddersfield to the Championship Playoffs last season after serving as the club’s U23 coach under Bielsa.

Then, after a brief stay at Olympiacos, he returned to England to become West Brom’s manager.

And since landing in the Hawthorns, his reputation has grown even more.

Prior to choosing Sean Dyche last week, he even had Everton interested in taking the Baggies out of the relegation zone and into the playoffs.

Although West Brom wants to lock him into a new deal, Corberan may find a return to Leeds to be too alluring to pass up.
