Lady Du Speaks about AKA’s boundaries
In an interview with SA Hip Hop Mag, Lady Du identified herself as one of those who did not know the Supa Mega AKA personally. She did, however, recognise the influence the deceased rapper had on the SA music industry as a whole as well as on her own career.
AKA had limits, according to Lady Du. Other musicians in the music business who were not personally acquainted with the rapper will also remember AKA’s musical legacy in addition to his Megacy followers, close friends, and family.
Lady Du acknowledged being among those who were influenced by AKA, particularly by the late rapper’s level of constancy.

“He was one of the people I was inspired by, especially with how consistent he was with himself,” she said. “Not with just the brand, but himself, AKA literally had boundaries. There was no celebrity in South Africa that had boundaries like AKA.”
The late rapper was described as being full of love and one of the few who respected other people’s privacy by the Amapiano star.
According to Lady Du, the people AKA was connected to may give insight into who he was as a person and the kind of friends he aspired to have.
“He knew when he goes to a place that that’s a no-go area you need to respect it and fans learned to respect that. He was literally a person that was bowling with love, I think everybody can see that,” she said.
“Guys, did you see the people that were talking at his memorial? You can tell from the friends he picked that he would never fail. He knew that my force is what I bring, not what I take. So it was just very sad for us and I’m very closer to Zinhle because we are in the same genre.”
Lady Du cited the diss track Composure as her AKA’s favourite music when asked what it was.
“I don’t think you guys know that was not a diss track. AKA was literally saying, compose yourself. He put you in place, but he says to remain grounded. Just the word composure, means calm yourself, I will tell you what I want to tell you, but remain calm, so that’s my favourite and Jika.” Lady Du added.
