Ladipoe reveals that Wizkid does not inspire him musically.
Nigerian hip-hop musician and Mavin record signee Ladipo Eso, also known as Ladipoe, has said that Afrobeats sensation Wizkid does not serve as a musical inspiration for him.
The disclosure happened during a social media (X) engagement on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, when Ladipoe answered a fan’s question about his musical inspirations.
The Shut It Down singer did, however, mention that he admired Wizkid’s personality and business intelligence.
Ladipoe initially posted, “RnB inspired me just as much as Hip Hop did” prompting a fan with the username @_okikiola_1 to inquire, “So Basically Wizkid is part of the people who inspired you.”
In his response, Ladipoe clarified, saying, “Musically no. Persona and business acumen definitely.”
As the conversation unfolded, another X user, @Bankz_12345, joined in with humour, questioning how “mid” (mediocre) could inspire someone. Ladipoe countered, asserting that “Wiz is not mid.”

The recognition highlights the relevance of Wizkid’s work and the song “Made in Lagos”‘s cross-generational impact on the modern music scene.
