The Ghanaian High-life and Afrobeat singer-songwriter Eugene Kwame Marfo, better by the stage name Kuami Eugene have responded to accusations that he has been stealing or sampling songs from other musicians in order to create his blockbuster songs.

in an interview on Ahosepe Xtra on Adom Tv which was posted via Instagram on the 9th of November 2021, he addressed the allegations.

Speaking with Ahosepe Xtra on Adom Tv, The Ghanaian musician claims that anyone who comes out to claim he’s taken their songs stands out enough to be noticed.

Recall, Eugene is a signed to Lynx Entertainment in ghana.

He has won several awards in ghana like the likes of New Artist awards in 2018 from the Ghana Music Awards, Ghana Music Awards UK.

He has also been crowned Artist of the Year and High-life Artist of the Year at the 2020 Ghana Music Awards.

While speaking to the Ahosepe Xtra on Adom Tv, He was told a lot of people accused him of stealing songs from different artists.

The most recent claim comes from Bhadext Cona’s camp, who claims Kuami stole the song originally titled “Bolga” and changed it to “Bunker.”

In response to the accusation, the Ghanian artist said :

“Have mercy on those who say I have stolen their song. Regardless I have been able to make countless hits. Normally those who complain much about me do not even have three songs like mine. At my age, I haven’t been around for a long time now but I have done a few which I thank God for it,”
“I think people like to eat ripe fruits and people will like to associate themselves with greatness. It’s normal. Do we sometimes tell ourselves some people are digging their archives waiting to see if their songs match? Even if the song is not released, the person hurries to release for publicity.”
