Why I still live like a poor man – Kizz Daniel stirs conversation about money

Nigerian hitmaker Kizz Daniel has opened up about his perspective on wealth and happiness, admitting that despite his fame and success in the music industry, he still lives like a poor man.
The Buga singer, known for his chart-topping tracks, revealed that he no longer chases money—rather, money is now chasing him. His admission came after he posted on social media, sparking a discussion about the complex relationship between money and happiness.
In his post, Kizz Daniel questioned the often-overlooked paradox of wealth, stating, “Why when money comes, happiness dey always comot?”
He pointed out that many rich individuals continue to live in sadness despite their financial status, urging his followers to look beyond the fake love and happiness often portrayed online.
One fan reacted by questioning him: “So, in other words, you’re saying money doesn’t bring happiness? But you’re chasing it every day.”
Kizz Daniel responded, clarifying that even though he has achieved significant success, he still lives humbly. “Lol … I still live like a poor man every day. Na money dey chase me instead,” he quipped.
The singer stressed that while he’s not discouraging the hustle, he cautioned that wealth brings its own set of challenges. “With money comes problems. People who have it won’t tell you the truth because they want to feel superior,” he added.
Kizz Daniel’s reflections on the subject come just days before the release of his eagerly awaited album Uncle K, set to drop soon.
