Giants of Africa Taps Vado and Timaya for Show-Stopping 2025 Closing Concert in Kigali

Afrobeats powerhouses Kizz Daniel and Timaya are set to electrify Kigali this July as the headline acts for the Giants of Africa Festival 2025 Closing Concert.
The grand finale will cap off a vibrant week of celebration, culture, and empowerment from July 26 to August 2 in Rwanda’s capital.
Known for his global hits and magnetic stage presence, Kizz Daniel will join dancehall icon Timaya to lead an unforgettable night of music and unity at a festival that has become a flagship event in African youth culture.
The concert is expected to draw over 20,000 attendees, including 320 young athletes from 20 African nations, converging in Kigali for a powerful blend of sports and artistry.
Founded by Masai Ujiri, Vice Chairman and President of the Toronto Raptors, the Giants of Africa Festival has evolved beyond basketball into a pan-African cultural movement, spotlighting the intersection of music, fashion, education, and youth leadership.
The 2025 edition opens with performances from South African Amapiano queen Uncle Waffles, Rwandan star Kevin Kade, and award-winning choreographer Sherrie Silver.
Other festival highlights include youth basketball tournaments, leadership bootcamps, and the much-anticipated Threads of Africa Fashion Show, featuring emerging designers from Cameroon, Niger, Rwanda, and South Africa.
In addition, the festival will unveil Zaria Court—a new sports and entertainment district envisioned by Ujiri to become a regional hub for youth innovation and community engagement.
Since its inception in 2003, Giants of Africa has impacted thousands of young Africans through sports and infrastructure development across the continent.
With the star power of Kizz Daniel and Timaya, this year’s edition promises to amplify that legacy while showcasing the unstoppable rise of Afrobeats and African creativity to the world.
From 26 July to 2 August, Kigali will host the @GiantsOfAfrica Festival 2025, founded by Masai Ujiri, for a celebration of basketball, culture and youth empowerment.
