King Charles III Showcases Commonwealth’s Cultural Diversity with Davido on His Music Playlist

King Charles III has once again highlighted the rich cultural diversity of the Commonwealth through music, unveiling a specially curated playlist that features Nigerian superstar Davido.
The newly released King’s Music Room playlist, revealed earlier today, celebrates a blend of global sounds personally selected by the British monarch. Among the standout tracks is Kante, Davido’s collaboration with Fave, further solidifying Afrobeats’ growing impact on the world stage.
The playlist also boasts an impressive lineup of legendary artists, including reggae icon Bob Marley, pop star Kylie Minogue, the ever-stylish Grace Jones, and the late South African music legend Miriam Makeba.

Speaking on his song choices, King Charles III shared his inspiration behind the selection. “I wanted to share with you songs which have brought me joy. They evoke many different styles and many different cultures. But all of them, like the family of Commonwealth nations, in their many different ways, share the same love of life in all its richness and diversity.”
The monarch also reflected on his past visit to Nigeria, expressing his appreciation for the country’s vibrant culture. “I remember attempting to give a speech in Nigerian Pidgin English, and the warmth of the people was truly unforgettable,” he recalled.
For Davido, this recognition adds another milestone to his already illustrious career. His Grammy-nominated album Timeless continues to garner global success, further cementing his place as a key figure in Afrobeats.
With Afrobeats now making its mark on such an exclusive platform, its influence on international music continues to grow. King Charles III hopes his playlist brings listeners the same joy it has brought him. “Perhaps you have heard some of your own favorite pieces—and perhaps you may have discovered something new,” he remarked.
