Khanyi Mbau slams “Young, Famous and African” editors
Khanyi Mbau offers her reaction after witnessing Young, Famous and African season 2 for the first time. The reality series’ South African star claimed that they are not permitted to see it until it is available for viewing.
However, she expressed her dissatisfaction with the show’s editors, claiming they had altered seasons 1 and 2 to portray her as the bad guy among the bunch.
“I finally saw @youngfamousandafrican, contrary to popular belief, we do not see the show till it is released to the public, so we are essentially just as surprised as the public,” she revealed.
Khanyi also discussed her battle with burnout during the filming of season 2.
“It was a very hard a painful watch for me, it triggered me so much, during filming I was not well, and I was diagnosed with burnout M.E. in February, meaning I have been struggling for 14 months during production.”
The performer criticised Urbanbrew Studios for unfairly influencing the show.
“The editors are messy and very spicey… reality tv neh..@urbanbrewstudios. Sadly the editor made me the villain AGAIN! editing out pivotal moments that give clarity, and deleting real scenes that shared the visuals of my real world, eg, our children.”
“The cuts and pastes of the scenes and the order is completely wrong and made to fit a certain narrative. I let things slide last season and treated it as show business but my kind nature is setting me up for failure in a very bad way,” she added.
Mbau thanked her supporters and those who showed their support by watching the series as she put her message to rest.
