Kcee Responds to Songwriting Allegations Made by Harrysong.
Nigerian artist Kcee has recently addressed accusations made by his former colleague, Harrysong, who claimed to have penned many of Kcee’s chart-topping hits during their time together at Kcee’s label.
The controversy stems from Harrysong’s persistent allegations that Kcee exerted control over his musical compositions, urging Kcee to release the due royalties for his contributions to Kcee’s successful tracks.
During a recent episode of the Afrobeats podcast featuring Adesope Olajide, Kcee vehemently rebutted Harrysong’s assertions. He pointed out that he secured victory in the Star Quest talent show while Harrysong remained in his hometown. Kcee subsequently signed with Kennis Music, producing three albums under the label.
Addressing the claims, Kcee stated; “When I won Star Quest, Harrysong was in the village with his grandmother. I did three albums with Kennis Music; did Harrysong write those? Harrysong has a problem, we need to pray for him. Jokes apart, we need to pray for him”
He emphasized that eight years ago, Harrysong left Five Star Music. Kcee made note of the fact that he has continued to independently generate popular tracks. Kcee expressed the belief that Harrysong needs prayers and alluded to the idea that he is going through personal difficulties, such as marital problems.
Along with the entire story, Kcee revealed on social media that he and One Republic will be working together on Kcee’s Ojapiano remake. A video that Kcee posted on social media included a brief clip of the parties’ recording sessions. “No sign of weakness!” was the remark he wrote in the video he published. We are introducing the world to our culture—the Ojapiano remix!
