Kaywa confirms Lasmid is no longer with him.
The Highly Spiritual Music record company has apparently lost the rapper and vocalist Lasmid. The Chief Executive Officer of the label Kaywa announced the departure in a brief interview with Andy Dosty on Adom TV’s ShowTym on Sunday, June 4, 2023, but he avoided going into specifics about what may have transpired behind the scenes.
Despite their back-and-forth conversations, he speculated that Lasmid’s final decision could have been influenced by certain internal problems.
“The conversation with Lasmid has been a back and forth but it was way before VGMA. He started trumpeting ‘I want to go, I want to go’ a long time ago. There is a back story but I wouldn’t wanna make it public,” he said.
However, Kawya gave supporters the reassurance that when the time was perfect, the real truth will come out to put the confusing tale in perspective.
Other well-known musicians, such as Kurl Songs, Yaw Berk, Krymi, and King Maaga, were once signed to the Highly Spiritual Record Label but later departed to pursue other possibilities, often after heated arguments.
In the same spirit-filled Nigerian superstar Naira Marley said in 2022 that he would like to sign Lasmid to his musical company.
The artist expressed his admiration for the upcoming generation of Ghanaian musicians in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, stating that they are making remarkable progress with their music.
Lasmid, the 2019 MTN Hitmaker winner, was praised further by the ‘Soapy’ vocalist. With the release of his most recent song, “Friday Night,” the young musician has risen to the top of the list of performers right now.
Since Lasmid’s music is so good, Naira Marley told Andy Dosty that he would want Lasmid, Zinoleesky, and Mohbad to join his Marlians record label.
