Controversial rapper Kanye West has once again ignited discussions in the music industry after advising American rappers to adopt the business strategies of their Nigerian peers.

In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, Kanye criticized fellow American rappers for what he described as a lack of financial and business acumen.
He argued that many rely too heavily on external figures—particularly Jewish executives and lawyers—to handle their affairs, rather than taking direct control of their careers.
West pointed to Nigerian rappers as a model of independence and business savvy, highlighting their ability to establish and manage their own record labels and entertainment enterprises.
He also praised Chinese and Indian entrepreneurs for building self-sufficient industries without excessive reliance on outsiders.
His remarks have sparked a heated debate, with some praising his call for greater autonomy among American rappers, while others accuse him of making sweeping generalizations.
Regardless of the backlash, West’s comments have once again positioned him at the center of discussions on ownership and self-sufficiency in the music business.
