American rapper Kanye West has been officially banned from Instagram for 24 hours.
The rapper was suspended after his postings about his ex-wife Kim Kardashian were reported to have violated the platform’s hate speech, harassment, and bullying rules.
Recall, the 44-year-old rapper was heavily criticised for throwing jabs at Kim, their children, and comedian Trevor Noah.
The comedian commented West during an episode of the satirical news show which he hosts, ‘The Daily Show.’
He said:
“You may not feel sorry for Kim because she’s rich and famous,”
“But what she’s going through is terrifying to watch and shines a spotlight on what so many women go through when they choose to leave.”

In reaction to Noah’s comments, Kanye shared a screenshot of a Google search for the comedian on his Instagram account, along with the lyrics of ‘Kumbaya, My Lord,’ which he modified to include a racial slur.
A statement by the photo-sharing app said it would take ‘additional steps’ if it saw further violations of its policies.
The statement:
“We often take additional steps against accounts that repeatedly break our rules by placing restrictions on their account,”
Meta, Instagram’s parent company, also stated that its harassment regulations had been breached and that it had ‘removed content’ from Kanye’s account.
