Harry Kane has written his name into football history once again after becoming the fastest striker across Europe’s top five leagues to score 100 goals for a single club.
The England captain hit the milestone in Bayern Munich’s emphatic 4–0 victory over Werder Bremen on Friday night, scoring twice to underline his blistering form in front of goal.
Kane reached the century mark in just 104 appearances for the Bavarians, a record unmatched in the modern era of the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, or Ligue 1.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland previously held the benchmark with 105 games for Real Madrid and Manchester City, respectively.
The 31-year-old striker, who already has 15 goals in just 10 matches across all competitions this season, could not hide his pride when reflecting on his achievement.
“It’s crazy even for me,” Kane told Sky Germany. “It’s an honour to reach 100 goals for this great club. To do it so quickly, I’m very proud of that. Hopefully I can reach another 100 as soon as possible.”
Kane has now set his sights on the Bundesliga single-season scoring record of 41 goals, set by Robert Lewandowski in 2020/21. With 10 already in Bayern’s opening five league fixtures, the Englishman admitted he is “definitely” eyeing the mark.
“I’ve scored 10 goals in five games,” he continued. “If I keep going like this, it’s certainly possible. Every season is a marathon. We’ve started well, we’re doing well, but of course a lot can happen, and we have to be prepared for anything.”
