Why Guinness World Records may delay verifying Hilda – Kaffy.
Nigerian dancer and World Guinness Record holder, Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau, popularly known as Kaffy, has disclosed the reasons for Guinness World Records’ perceived delay in verifying Hilda Baci’s record.
Recalls on Monday, Guinness World Records announced that it will need to perform reviews before recognizing the record for the longest solo cooking marathon, achieved by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.
The Guinness World Record holder for the “Longest Dance Party” in 2006, Kaffy, commented on the apparent delay in the Guinness World Records, stating that technical difficulties may prevent someone from being validated by the organization.
Using social media, Kaffy claimed that it took over two weeks for Guinness World Records to officially acknowledge her achievement in 2006.
She wrote: “A lot of people attempt and succeed in beating timelines but don’t get verified because of technical errors.”
She hoped that Hilda’s endeavour wouldn’t be ruined by technological difficulties.
Meantime, Hilda Baci, a Nigerian cook, has broken her silence after the Guinness World Record declared that it will evaluate all data before determining if she set a record.
On Monday, May 15, in Lagos state, Baci broke the previous record for the longest cooking marathon.
However, Guinness World Record declared on Monday that it would review all the information before confirming it formally.
