Afrobeats rising star Kaestyle, born Kelvin Ibinabo Oriye, has dropped his latest EP titled ROOKIES Don’t Sound This Good, a bold and stylish statement released under KeyQaad Records.

The three-track collection arrives after his 2024 single Forever and follows the success of his debut 2022 project, Kae’s Study. Hailing from Port Harcourt and signed to the same label as Omah Lay, Kaestyle continues to build his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most dynamic new voices. His growing acclaim was recently punctuated by a nod at The Headies 2025, where he hinted that his “rookie” days are behind him.
The EP opens with Chineke, a smooth collaboration with up-and-comer Starsamm. It’s a charming confession of romantic obsession so consuming, Kaestyle says only “Chineke” (God) can save him. Light and melodic, the track balances emotional candor with Afro-fusion warmth, showcasing his knack for storytelling and groove.

The title track, Rookies Don’t Sound This Good, stands as the heart of the project—equal parts swagger and soul. With an effortless blend of Afrobeats, pop, and R&B, Kaestyle lays out his claim to greatness, flexing vocal versatility over confident production. Fans are already reading it as a clever jab at the “rookie” label, with some interpreting it as a response to The Headies’ classification.
Closing the EP is How Much, a high-energy club anthem dripping in streetwise flair and sensual bravado. It’s already picking up momentum as a party favorite, cementing Kaestyle’s ability to move between introspective grooves and high-tempo bangers with ease.
Influenced by artists like 2Baba, Wande Coal, and Drake, and sharpened during his time studying music at the University of Port Harcourt, Kaestyle has crafted a sound that feels both grounded and global. His dual ability to rap and sing—previously on display in tracks like My Dealer featuring Omah Lay—continues to shine across this project.
