South African rap icons, K.O and Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, are making waves on the global stage once again, as they secure nominations for the 18th annual BET Hip-Hop Awards.

Throughout this year, both artists have been steadily accumulating recognition on both national and international fronts, reaffirming their status as rap powerhouses. And despite the tragic loss of AKA, his enduring talent and legacy continue to resonate within the music industry.

This latest BET nomination marks AKA’s sixth consecutive appearance in the prestigious awards, having first been recognized in 2015. The duo now competes in the coveted Best International Flow category alongside a diverse array of global rap talents, including Black Sherif (Ghana), Central Cee (UK), Gazo (France), J Hus (UK), Major Rd (Brazil), Ninho (France), Sampa The Great (Zambia), and Tasha & Tracie (Brazil). South African hip-hop continues to shine on the world stage, and K.O, AKA Forbes remains at the forefront of this movement.

Relatedly, Renowned rapper K.O, whose real name is Ntokozo Mdluli, recently took to Twitter to express his deep concern about the deteriorating state of South Africa. In a series of heartfelt tweets, the artist criticized the country’s leadership for failing to progress and called for a change.

In his thought-provoking posts, K.O emphasized that avoiding failure is essential for progress and urged everyone to step out of their comfort zones. Comparing South Africa to other African nations, he lamented the country’s regression while others prospered.

K.O’s sentiments resonated with businesswoman Mpho Wabadimo, who recently posted a passionate video on Instagram. In her emotional plea, she urged the South African government to take necessary actions and avoid destroying the country.
