A few days into a new year and the global reggae family has just lost one of her own.
Joseph Mersa Marley, the grandson of the reggae icon, Bob Marley has been announced dead at the age of 31.
Mp3bullet gathered gathered that Jo Mersa, passed away Tuesday due to asthma-related conditions … although the specifics surrounding his death are unclear.
After spending his early years in Jamaica, Joseph, son of Stephen Marley, attended Miami Dade College and studied audio engineering.
He went on to drop an EP in 2014 called “Comfortable” … which held some tracks like “Rock and Swing” and “Bogus.” He also released the hit single, “Burn It Down,” in 2016 — and put out a 2nd EP, “Eternal,” last year.
After his death, many notable public figures, fans and friends have shared their condolences for Jo’s family.

Music journalist,Tony Centeno tweeted “Rest in peace Jo Mersa Marley. Numerous reports have confirmed the grandson of Bob Marley/son of Stephen Marley was found unresponsive in a car. He was only 31. My condolences and prayers go out to the Marley family ????????”
